From July 28th to August 8th 2015, the 23rd World Scout Jamboree will take place in Kirara-hama, Japan. The international flagship event of Boy Scouts of America, the World Scout Jamboree brings together over 30,000 Scouts and leaders from more than 160 countries across the globe. Every year, the attendees at the World Scout Jamboree make new friends from around the world, deepen their understanding of science and technology, raise awareness of important global issues, and explore the environment.
The 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan will operate under the theme of “Wa: a Spirit of Unity.” Named after the kanji character “wa,” the theme promotes values such as peace, friendship, unity, and harmony. The event will take place in the reclaimed land of Kirara-hama, located in Honshu in Southern Japan. The site will play host to the Global Development Village, a module program that concentrates on global issues such as disaster mitigation.
